Bhubaneswar: The residents of the capital city heaved a sigh of relief from intense humidity following a spell of heavy rain accompanied with lightning on Sunday afternoon.
The weather changed at about 5.30 pm after dense clouds gathered over the city with a continuous streak of lightning. Soon after, heavy rain accompanied with strong wind lashed the city for about 30 minutes.
The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar in a release said apart from Bhubaneswar, there will be moderate to intense thunderstorms with one or two intense spells of rain along with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in the twin cities later in the day.
