Heavy Rain Likely In Odisha From Sept 1

Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in large parts of Odisha between September 1 and 3 with a possible formation of a low pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh on September 2, the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC), SOA Deemed to be University, said on Thursday.

The districts likely to receive rainfall are Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Nuapada, Bargarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nawarangpur, the CEC bulletin said.

Rain is likely to start from Sunday night and the intensity would be higher in northern and western Odisha compared to other regions, it added.
