Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued orange and yellow warnings for some districts of Odisha till 5.50 pm.
Moderate rain/thundershower with lightning and one or two intense/heavy spells of rain likely at some places in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Puri districts during next 2 hours. The MeT office has warned of waterlogging in low-lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area likely in these 3 districts.
The weather agency further said that light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning may affect some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh and Koraput. People have bee advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD has issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for several districts of the state for three days. Check here.
While there is no warning thereafter, light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur at a few places across Odisha during the next 2 days.
