Bhubaneswar: Heavy and intense rain is likely to pound Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities on Thursday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
In an advisory, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said issued yellow warning of heavy rain in the two cities till 8.30 pm. Rainfall ranging between seven and eleven cm is likely to be recorded in some areas of the two cities, it said.
The intense spell of downpour may cause temporary traffic congestion, poor visibility, while water-logging is likely to take place in low-lying areas.
The weather agency also forecast cloudy sky with a few spells of rain and thundershower with one or two intense spells in the two cities in the evening.
