Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain may continue to lash some districts of Odisha for another 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
The weather agency has issued yellow warning for heavy rain at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Keonjhar. “Due to steep pressure gradient, strong surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50kmph is likely along and off North Odisha coast during next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off North coast during this period.”
Thunderstorm with lightning may also occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur on July 1-2.
Bhubaneswar is likely to experience partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on July 1.
While there are no further weather warnings, light to moderate rain/thundershower may continue across the state till July 7, it added.
