Bhubaneswar: Normal life in Balasore and Bhadrak was disrupted as heavy rain accompanied by strong wind lashed the coastline in these two districts on Wednesday.
Informing the media, director general of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mrutyunjay Mahapatra said that though the landfall of the cyclone Amphan has begun in Sundarban area along the West Bengal coast, heavy rainfall and strong wind will prevail in these two districts of Odisha till evening.
Meanwhile, the rainfall recorded from 5.30 am till 1 pm on Wednesday was highest in Balasore at 91 mm and 41.2 mm at Chandbali block in Bhadrak district.
