Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain with thunderstorm will strike different parts of Odisha under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in a release.
According to the release, the low-pressure area over coastal areas of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal now lies over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal.
The IMD Has forecast heavy rainfall for the next four days.

October 16 & 17: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada Bhadrak and Balasore today.
Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Boudh till 8.30 am of Sunday.
Oct 17 & 18: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.
During the same period, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh and Kandhamal.
Oct 18 & 19: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar,
