Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning about rainfall and thundershower for 23 districts of Odisha by 3 pm on Saturday.
Issuing an orange alert, the MeT Centre said light to moderate rain and thundershower with one or two intense and heavy spell of rain llikely to affect some parts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur and Ganjam district.
Orange warning has also been sounded for state capital Bhubaneswar and the millennium city of Cuttack.
Water logging in low lying places, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption likely to be faced in urban areas, it said, advising people to avoid movement in affected area and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.
