Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday issued thunderstorm and heavy rainfall alert for 17 districts of Odisha.
Moderate thunderstorm and lightning with intense spells of rainfall likely to continue at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara districts. Similarly, moderate thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh and Kandhamal districts.
Such weather condition is likely to prevail between 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm, the IMD said in its latest bulletin.
Moderate thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and intense spells of rainfall likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Keonjhar between 4 pm and 7 pm, it added.
