Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here on Friday forecast rain and strong wind with speed up to 30-40 kmph in 11 districts of Odisha.
Such weather conditions will prevailing in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh districts.
“Light to moderate rainfall along with lightning and thunderstorm is likely in several northern, coastal and interior districts in the next 24 hours,” said Duty Officer of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Charan Behera.
He said that yellow warning (thunderstorm, lighting and hailstorm) has been issued for six districts – Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar.
Heavy rain is likely to lash Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam and Puri districts, he added.
According to the Met office, Daringbadi has seen a record 16 mm rain in the last 24 hours.
Dense fog has been predicted for Kalahandi, Koraput, Balangir and Rayagada.
The night temperature is also expected to decrease by 3 degree Celsius from February 10.
