Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warning for several districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 9 pm on Wednesday.
Orange warning of moderate rain/thundershower accompanied by lightning along with one or two intense spell of rain may occur in Jajpur, Bhadrak, Nayagarh and Kendrapada in the next three hours.
The weather agency also warned of waterlogging in low-lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban.
Yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is also likely in Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur and Puri during this period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
