Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for eight districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4.30 pm on Monday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower accompanied by lightning with one or two intense spells are likely in some parts of Angul, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, and Mayurbhanj in 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD had forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Nabarangapur on July 3. The yellow warning for heavy rain continues till July 6 with the possibility of a low pressure forming over Bay of Bengal around July 4.
