Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain will lash a few places in five districts of interior Odisha in the next 24 hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in an evening bulletin on Sunday.
“A cyclonic circulation lies over east Bihar and neighbourhood and a north-south trough from southeast Uttar Pradesh to the south of Chhattisgarh will increase rainfall activity mostly in some parts of the interior and south coastal Odisha which will continue till next three days up to July 14. Apart from this, there will be thundershower and lightning at some places across the state,” the bulletin added.
In view of heavy rainfall, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts.
July 12
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Dhenkanal and Sundargarh
July 13
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bargarh, Balangir, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak.
July 14
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Kandhamal.
