Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday sounded heavy rainfall warning for Odisha for four days from the next 24 hours.
“The low-pressure area over south-east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood lies over north-east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south Uttar Pradesh while a cyclonic circulation over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea lies over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast. Under its influence, heavy rainfall will lash at one or two places across the state in the next 24 hours,” the IMD said in its mid-day bulletin.
The districts, which will receive heavy rainfall for the four days till August 26 are as follows.
August 23
Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Puri and Cuttack.
August 24
Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda.
August 25
Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Koraput, Kalahandi, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
August 26
