Bhubaneswar: With conditions favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday forecast heavy rain for several districts of Odisha till 8.30 am on June 24.
While monsoon had set on Odisha on June 16, it is likely to cover the entire state in the next couple of days. “Conditions are favourable for further advance of monsoon into some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha, remaining parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and some more parts of Bihar and some parts of northeast Uttar Pradesh during next 2-3 days,” the MeT office said.
Which heavy rainfall is likely to lash one or two places in Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Mayurbhanj during the next 24 hours, thunderstorm activity will continue till 8.30 am on June 22.
