Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to lash several parts of Odisha during the next three days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
While several areas of the state experienced rain of varied intensity on Saturday, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that light to moderate rain and thundershower may occur many places in the state for the next one week.
It said the cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal now lies over west-central Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh coast
Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar during the next 24 hours. The weather agency issued yellow alert for these areas.
Similarly, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Kandhamal on Sunday.
Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, and Malkangiri also on Sunday. Yellow alert was sounded for these districts.
The weather agency also issued yellow warning and predicted heavy rain at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur on July 8.
