Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for five districts, including Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 2.45 pm on Saturday.
Moderate rain or thundershower with one or two spells of intense rainfall is likely in Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Nayagarh in next 2-3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
With monsoon covering the entire state, the Met office had issued yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely at one or two places in Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on Saturday.
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) may occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sundargarh during this period, it had said in Friday bulletin.
Odisha is also likely to witness heavy rain activity with orange warning issued for some wester districts on June 25 and June 26, it added.
