Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha will continue to witness heavy rainfall under the influence of a fresh low-pressure area over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off south Odisha coast.
“The low-pressure area now lies in the same region. Under its influence, 13 districts of the state are expected to experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours,” informed scientist at IMD Bhubaneswar, Umashankar Das.
These 13 districts are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Kandhamal.
The amount of rainfall is likely to increase after 24 hours, he added.
Heavy rain has been pounding coastal and north-coastal parts of Odisha including Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balasore since the last 24 hours.
