Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre here on Sunday forecast heavy rainfall for Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts in the next 24 hours.
Weather expert Ajay Kumar Nayak told the media that the low pressure has weakened and lies near Jharkhand and West Bengal area, and it will move in the northwest direction. “Under its influence, light to moderate rain is likely at several places in interiors district and some places in coastal Odisha,” he said.
Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea during this period, he said.
Another low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by August 19, he added.
