Bhubaneswar: Heavy and intense rain is likely to pound at least 23 districts of Odisha on Saturday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
Issuing the warning along with an orange alert at 2.30 pm, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that moderate rain/thundershower with one or two spells of heavy and intense rain may affect some parts of 23 districts within next three hours.
The districts likely to be affected are Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda and Nayagarh.

Under its impact, water-logging is likely to take place in low-lying areas, while poor visibility and traffic disruption may be experienced in urban areas.
The weather agency has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and act accordingly.
