Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain is likely to lash some parts of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 6 pm, the India Meteorological Department informed on Wednesday.
Moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spell of rain may affect some parts of the cities within next 3 hours. The weather agency has warned of occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption during intense spells.
Orange warning of moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells has also been sounded for some places in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Balangir, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Sundargarh during this period. Light to moderate rain/thundershower has also been issued for some parts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Rayagada, Koraput, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD has predicted continuation of heavy rain in Odisha till August 25.
