Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain with one or two spells of heavy falls (2-3cm/hour) in Bhubaneswar till 2 pm on Tuesday.
The MeT office has also issued warning for light to moderate rain/thundershower in some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Kandhamal, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, and Koraput in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD had forecast thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places in southern and coastal districts of the state in the next 48 hours and a likely increase in rainfall activity from Tuesday.
