Heavy Rain To Pound Odisha Again From Sept 5 With Likely Formation Of LoPAR Over Bay

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain may resume in Odisha with the likely formation of a fresh low pressure area over westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around September 5, India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.

The weather agency has issued yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning for two days. Thunderstorm with lightning may occur at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts on September 3 and in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kalahandi on September 4.

There is a warning of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kalahandi districts on September 5-6.

Thunderstorm with lightning may also occur at isolated places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh and Ganjam on September 5 and in Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh and Ganjam on September 6.

Heavy rain along with thunderstorm/lightning may continue at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati and Kalahandi on September 7. Thunderstorm with lightning may also occur at isolated places in Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Balangir and Kandhamal districts.

While there is no warning thereafter, light to moderate rain/thundershowermay occur at many places across the state during the next 2 days.
