Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued yellow warning and forecast heavy rainfall in several districts of the state in next five days.
According to evening bulletin of the Met office, a low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood around August 13. Under its influence, several districts of the state will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall till August 16.
The yellow warning and rainfall forecast have been issued for the following districts for next 5 days:
Day 1 (valid from 8.30 am of August 11 to 8.30 am of August 12)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall in Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal. Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely at many places over the districts of south, interior Odisha and at a few places over the rest of the districts.
Day 2
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall likely in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapada, Bargarh and Sonepur
Day 3
Day 4
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall for Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Ganjam.
Day 5
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh. Heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Boudh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur.
