Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in 10 districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours, according to a bulletin issued by the regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Friday.
Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over north coastal Odisha and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has been formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Boudh and Sonepur districts.
Rainfall occurred at most places over interior Odisha and at many places over coastal Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over south interior Odisha.
Chief amount of rainfall was recorded at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district, Patnagarh, Belpada in Balangir districts, Madanpur Rampur in Kalahandi, Hemgiri, Panposh in Sundargarh, Angul, Gurundia in Sundargarh, Padampur in Bargarh, Jajpur, Batagaon in Sambalpur, Paikmal in Bargarh, Sukinda in Jajpur, Chandanpur in Mayurbhanj, Chandikhol in Jajpur, Rajkanika in Kendrapara and Athmalik in Angul districts in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Chandbali recorded the highest maximum temperature of 33.3 degree Celsius and the lowest of 21.5 degrees Celsius at Titlagarh in the plains of Odisha.
