Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is expected in North and South Odisha during next 48 hours under the influence of a depression formed over North Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Saturday bulletin.
It’s going to pour at one or two places over North Odisha the next couple of days. The fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea as the wind speed during the period would be around 40 KMPH. Heavy rainfall is likely to continue along the northern region of the state till July 26, the bulletin added.
In view of incessant rain in most parts of the state since July 15 that led to flash floods and waterlogging at various places including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the district collectors of northern region have been asked to remain alert following the IMD warning.
