Rayagada/Mayurbhanj: Incessant rainfall has triggered a flood-like situation in Chandrapur block of Rayagada district.
With water overflowing in all canals near several villages under the block, a large area have been inundated and over 1,500 people of Kumbharasahi and Bandari marooned.
In Mayurbhanj, road communication between Udala and Baripada has been disrupted with Adapala bridge in the area under 2 feet of water.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in coastal and interior parts of the state in the next 24 hours with the well-marked low pressure concentrating into a depression.
