Heavy Rains Lash Cuttack & Bhubaneswar; Thunderstorm & Lighting Alert Issued

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain lashed the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Tuesday afternoon.

The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain for Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Nayagarh till around 2.30 pm.

Earth Network has also issued medium thunderstorm and lightning alert for Barang and Cuttack-Sadar blocks, including Cuttack city in Cuttack district; Bhubaneswar block including Bhubaneswar city in Khurda district within 1.19 pm.

People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
