Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Odisha’s Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
Heavy rain may also lash one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Khurda. There is also a forecast for thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.
Bhubaneswar may experience partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thundershower.
On July 8, heavy rain may continue at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at many places in South Odisha and at a few places in North Odisha from July 7-9 and July 11.
While there are no further weather warnings, light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely at many places across the state on July 12-13.
According to IMD’s extended range forecast for two weeks (July 5 to 11 and July 12 to 18), Odisha is likely to experience more rains under the influence of two low pressure systems which may form over Bay of Bengal, by July 11 and after July 13, respectively.
