Talcher: A Coal Corridor construction company truck hit a helper in Talcher Kalinga mining area leading to his death at Solda Truck Association Gate on Monday morning. The worker identified as Santury Tapan of Jharkhand was working under a road construction company owned by Litu Patnaik. According to sources, the truck hit helper Santury Tapan before running over him. He died on the spot instantaneously. Gopalprasad Outpost police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem. The relatives of Tapan, meanwhile, have demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh from the company for the death.
