Bhubaneswar: The HER Team of Commissionerate Police on Tuesday arrested one Kishan Dash for allegedly harassing a minor girl in Bhubaneswar.
According to the police, the 18-year-old school bus helper was trying to lure a minor girl with chocolates and used to make inappropriate advances towards her.
The victim’s father had previously raised concerns about Dash’s behaviour with the school authorities, but the situation recurred on September 20, after which approached the HER team of Twin City police.
On the basis of this complaint, the accused bus helper was arrested by HER team and handed over to Laxmi Sagar police for further legal action, a senior HER team official said.
“The Commissionerate Police emphasises its commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of women and girls, taking stringent action against harassment or inappropriate behavior,” the official added.
It may be noted that the HER Team, a significant initiative by the Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar, is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of women and girls in the city.
The aim of the team is to combat and prevent instances of street harassment, eve-teasing, and stalking. By creating a safer environment, the HER Team strives to empower women, fostering a sense of security and confidence in public spaces.
