Berhampur: Students of the government-managed Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Berhampur has made a 30-foot high Odisha map made from automobile scraps and iron bars generated from a demolished building in the campus with a theme Skilled in Odisha.
The map was unveiled by Berhampur Parliamentarian Chandra Sekhar Sahu and Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda on Thursday. It commemorated the Utkal Divas celebrations throughout Odisha.
ITI Berhampur Principal Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahi claimed it as the largest Odisha map in the country made from scraps. “This is well illuminated and placed in the ITI campus which is the largest scrap sculpture park in Asia,” Dr Panigrahi said.
This theme has been developed and dedicated to Odisha Skill Development Mission and its Chairman Subrato Bagchi, Dr Panigrahi further said. Now Skilled in Odisha is a model and followed by all the states.
“More such hands-on skill should be developed to make the students industry-ready,” said Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu. Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda opined that the ITI Berhampur is a pride of the country which has brought name and fame to the country.
