Mumbai: After Aliya Fakhri’s arrest in New York, a source close to Nargis Fakhri said that the Bollywood actress has not been in touch with her sister for over 20 years.
Nargis, who has been silent over her sister’s arrest, took to her Instagram handle to talk about an entirely different topic — her upcoming film ‘Housefull 5.’
Nargis, an American actress who works in Hindi film industry, shared a picture with her ‘Housefull 5’ co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonam Bajwa from the sets of the film and wrote, “We are coming for you.”
After the story of Aliya’s arrest broke, a source told India Today that Nargis hasn’t been in touch with her sister for more than 20 years and learned about the incident through news channels, just like everyone else.
Her mother defended Aliya, saying, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.”
Aliya Fakhri allegedly set a garage on fire, which led to the death of her 35-year-old ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend, 33-year-old Anastasia Ettienne.
The prosecutor stated that Aliya took this step after her ex-boyfriend refused to reconcile with her.
Aliya will be appearing in court on December 9.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Housefull 5’ is the fifth instalment of the comedy franchise.
Apart from Nargis, Sonam and Jacqueline, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Chunky Panday in important roles.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres in June 2025.
