Puri: The process for demolition of the urban primary health centre at Dolabedi Kona here has begun.
“The health centre lies within 75-metre radius of Jagannath Temple and therefore, temporarily being shifted to Baliapanda,” said Puri Sub-Collector Bhabataran Sahoo.
It is part of the massive eviction drive around the 12th century shrine, which began in September, to pave way for the Odisha government’s ambitious Heritage Corridor Project.
According to sources, furniture, medical equipment and other materials have been removed from the health centre.
The Puri administration is also reportedly planning to demolish Sana Chhata mutt in the Pilgrim Town.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday had thanked the people living within 75-metres for selling their land to make Puri a world heritage place.
