Bhubaneswar: Jharkhand Police have arrested Hi-Tech Medical College Vice-Chairman Tirupati Choudhary on charges of duping a MBBS aspirant of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext facilitating his admission in the college.
Choudhary was arrested on Tuesday on the basis of a complaint lodged by Ramdhar Pautik, a native of Bokaro in Jharkhand.
According to sources, Choudhary had taken Rs 5 lakh from Prutik and promised to help him get admission in the medical college in 2013. He has not been allocated a seat till now.
Prutik lodged a complaint in the local police station when the accused did not return him the money.
Jharkhand police with the help of Saheed Nagar police nabbed Choudhary and forwarded him to court. He will be taken to Jharkhand on transit remand for further interrogation into the matter, the sources added.
However, the official refuted the allegation and termed it as false and fabricated.
