Bhubaneswar: A high drama was witnessed on Tuesday as a woman reportedly tried to stop the carcade of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar protesting traffic curbs for the VVIP movement.
As per information, the incident took place near Rasulgarh when the Chief Minister was returning after attending an event at VSS Nagar in the capital city in the evening.
The police had stopped the traffic on a stretch between Rasulgarh and Vani Vihar Square for smooth passage of the CM’s motorcade.
Protesting the traffic blockade, the woman who was also waiting to proceed had a heated argument with the police. She reportedly moved to the middle of the road and tried to stop the Chief Minister’s carcade.
The police officials including a woman cop repeatedly asked the woman to give way for the CM’s carcade. However, she was unwilling to move from the spot and stood in the middle of the road for about 3-5 minutes. She sought to know as to why the traffic was blocked for such a long time.
The woman was then taken away from the site by the police personnel to ensure smooth passage of the CM’s convoy.
The Mancheswar Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
