Balasore: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and Works Secretary Krishan Kumar arrived in Balasore town around 7.30 am on Tuesday.
The high-level team is visiting the town keeping with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s promise during the run-up to the by-election in November last year to personally monitor the development works in the district.
“Balasore has scope for more development and I want to take it to the next stage,” Naveen had said while campaigning for BJD candidate Swarup Kumar Das.
The ruling party had wrested the Balasore assembly seat from the BJP in the bypoll.
The team will also review the COVID-19 situation in the district, which reported 72 new cases in the last 24 hours.
