Highest Single Day Spike of 2496 COVID-19 Positive Cases In Odisha, Tally Crosses 57K

 

Bhubaneswar: Record surge of COVID-19 positive cases continued for third day in the state which reported highest single-day spike of 2496 new cases in the last 24 hours.

While 1591 positive cases were reported from quarantine centres, 905 were local contact cases, according to a tweet of Information and Public Relation department.

Of the new cases, Khurda district registered the highest 378, followed by Ganjam with 327, Balasore 165, Sundargarh 156, Rayagada 146, Koraput 133, Cuttack 128, Boudh 115 and Bhadrak 102.

With the latest addition, the total COVID-19 positive cases in the state went up to 57,126 on Saturday. The tally touched 54,630 on Friday with 1977 new positive cases.

With 39,205 patients recovering from the disease, the state has 17,535 active cases at present.
