Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday busted a highway looters’ gang by arresting five of its members.
Following information about presence of the gang at a place, the Saheed Nagar police conducted a raid and nabbed the five members. The police also seized gold jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh, six mobile phones, a laptop, a watch and a sharp weapon from their possession.
The dacoits, who are most wanted for the Twin City Commissionerate Police, used to attack the commuters on highways with sharp weapons and loot valuables from them before fleeing, sources said.
Further investigation is on to find out other members of the gang.
