Islamabad: A 40-year-old Hindu woman was allegedly brutally killed in Pakistan’s Sinjhoro town on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Daya Bhel, was beheaded, Pakistani politician Krishna Kumari tweeted.
“Daya Bhel 40-year widow brutally murdered and body was found in very bad condition. Her head was separated from the body and the savages had removed flesh of the whole head. Visited her village. Police teams from Sinjhoro and Shahpurchakar also reached,” wrote Krishna Pakistan’s first female senator from Hindu community representing Pakistan Peoples Party.
The corpse was dumped in a wheat field after skin was removed and the head cut off.
The Indian government called on Pakistan to protect its minorities.
“We have seen reports about it, but we don’t have specific details on the case. But we have repeatedly said that Pakistan should protect its minorities along with their safety, security and well-being,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.
“We strongly condemn the brutal killing of a poor widowed Hindu woman #Diya Bheel at Sanjhuru near Sanghar. Daya Bhel’s head and breast were also cut SSP Sanghar@babrohi_psp. Plz Take notice and arrest the brutal killers,” tweeted activist Faqir Shiva Kacchi.
Earlier this year, 18-year-old Hindu woman Pooja was shot dead in Sindh and her body thrown on the street. As per Pakistan media reports, Pooja’s killer Wahid Bux Lashari wanted to convert her to Islam before marrying her. As Pooja resisted, an enraged Lashari killed her.
