Hirakud Dam Releases Season’s First Floodwater

Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities on Wednesday released the first floodwaters of the season from gate no-7 at 11.24 am.

As informed by the Dam authorities, the outflow of the floodwaters was 15,550 cusecs per second and inflow into the dam, 1,39,078 cusecs per second.

Stating that the gate will be closed around 2 pm, they said that more gates of the dam will be opened only after the flood situation in the lower catchments of Mahanadi improves.
