Dhenkanal: Tragedy struck a family when two of their children were mowed down by a van in Dhenkanal town on Monday afternoon.
As per reports, the children were sleeping under a flyover at Baji Chowk when a pick-up van ran over them at about 2 pm. They have been identified as Saina and Suhana, daughters of Santosh Sabar, who lives under the bridge with his family.
Another child of Santosh, Pami Sabar who was eating food nearby, sustained grievous injuries in the mishap.
While Saina and Suhana died on the spot, Pami was rushed to a hospital here in critical condition.
Driver of the vehicle fled the spot following the mishap. On receiving information, the Town police reached the spot and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
