Balasore: Two persons were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a heavy vehicle near Nampo Chhak on Jaleswar–Chandaneswar stretch of National Highway No. 57 in Odisha’s Balasore district early on Sunday.
The decease
d have been identified as Gautam Sahu (18) and Chandra Shekhar Mahapatra (22) of Baghua village in the district.
As per information, the two were proceeding to Jaleswar railway station at around 3 am when the mishap occurred. An unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed into their motorcycle near Nampo Chhak and fled the scene, killing both on the spot.
After receiving information, a police team from the Nampo outpost rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to G.K. Bhatar Community Health Centre at Jaleswar and made arrangements for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been initiated to trace the offending vehicle.
