Salepur: The driver and helper of an off-highway construction truck were seriously injured after the vehicle rammed into a house near Panchayat Prahallad College Chhak at Nischintkoili in Salepur block of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday morning.
Fortunately, the family members of the damaged house escaped unhurt.
According to sources, the truck was on the way to Cuttack from Kendrapara in the morning when the driver lost control over the vehicle which rammed into the house of Dambarudhar Sahu.
Soon after the incident, police rushed to the spot and admitted the driver Prabhat and helper Pramod to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Nischintkoili. The duo was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their health deteriorated.
Talking to media, the house owner said five members of his family were asleep in another room when the incident took place.
He said some articles were damaged after a portion of the wall caved in due to the collision.
