Jharsuguda: After Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, a bomb scare was reported in Veer Surendra Sai Airport on Thursday.
Rigorous security checks were conducted here after IndiGo Jharsuguda-Bengaluru flight (6E-128) received a bomb threat call mid-air. The flight landed in Jharsuguda at 12.35 pm and was scheduled to leave at 1.10 pm. Due to frisking of the flight and passengers, the flight take-off was delayed. However, no explosive material was found in the aircraft.
“The X handle of IndiGo had received messaged claiming that bombs were placed on 20 planes. Following an assessment, it was declared a hoax call. The passengers are being made to board the flight after security checks,” airport director Sandeep Kumar Tiwari told the media.
