According to sources, Higher Education Department secretary Bishnupada Sethi wrote a letter to the institutions regarding the installation of the LCD screens at strategic locations and also to encourage students to watch at least the inaugural event on January 11, the first match on January 13 and the final match on January 29, 2023.

The FIH Hockey World Cup is being organised in Odisha from January 11 to January 29, 2023, and a number of programmes spearheaded by the department have been conducted in universities and colleges to infuse the spirit of hockey among students. “Now the government desires to keep the spirit going especially during the event,” he said.
