Bhubaneswar: As part of its preparation for FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023, the Twin City Commissionerate Police on Tuesday night carried out inspections of OYO hotels in Odisha capital where people coming from across the state are likely to book their stay during the match.
Several teams of police personnel visited OYO hotels and lodging under Kharvel Nagar, Capital, Laxmisagar, Sahidnagar, Chandrasekharpur, and Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar.
All the enforcement drives are being conducted under the Safe City Drive. During the inspection, the cops checked the maintenance of registers, the functioning of CCTV cameras, facilities in the rooms, as well as security systems.
It is pertinent to mention here that Bhubaneswar DCP Pratik Singh visited star hotels at nine different places in the capital city including Hotel Mayfair, Sandy Tower, and Swosti Grand, to verify the security arrangements for the safe stay of all hockey players coming from different countries.
A total of 18 platoons of the police force with two platoons in each hotel will be deployed throughout the tournament. The police force under the supervision of two inspectors and a DSP rank officer will look after the security of the team members in each hotel.
