Bhubaneswar: Odisha is waiting with bated breath to host the FIH Men’s World Cup for the second time.
The state government and local organisers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a successful and glitch-free tournament, which will be held at two venues — Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium and the newly-constructed Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.
Two new pitches have been laid at Birsa Munda Stadium, while 2 pitches have been relaid at Kalinga Stadium. All four have received International Hockey Federation (FIH) certification.
The tournament will kick off on January 13, 2023, with 2 matches at Bhubaneswar and 2 at Rourkela – including the India versus Spain clash.
The two semifinals and final will be held at Kalinga Stadium on January 27 and 30, respectively.
