Home & Decor And IIMT 2023 Open In Bhubaneswar; 72 Builders’ Products On Display

Bhubaneswar: The 18th edition of “HOME & DECOR” 2023 and India International Mega Trade Fair (IIMT) 2023 opened at Janta Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Usha Devi, Minister of Housing & Urban Development, said real estate sector is booming with the growth of the urban development in Odisha. CREDAI Bhubaneswar Foundation is helping the industry for its growth, she added.

Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Dash said, “In eastern India, Bhubaneswar is now considered as the best hub for health, education, IT, business, sports etc. In the recent budget, our government has allocated Rs 700 crore for urban development. Major part of the fund will be utilised for infrastructure development.”

Pradipta Kumar Biswasroy, president, CREDAI Bhubaneswar, said, “The real estate business volume at Bhubaneswar even now is not that big in comparison to type-II & III cities in India. But we look forward to the vast scope before us. The state government over the years had also brought number of such reforms in real estate policies, smoothen the process for which we could rise to the present stage.”

The exhibition has 10 air-conditioned hangars to enable the participants to display their products along with one cafeteria to refresh the visitors. Exhibitors from 9 countries and 16 states are participating in the expo. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Dubai, Iran, Malayasia, Thailand and Egypt are the partners in the International Mega Trade Fair. Indian state partners are Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan and Jharkhand with Odisha as the host partner.

The biggest hanger is dedicated to the real-estate operators to display their products located in various parts of Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack. Those include completed housing projects, ongoing projects as well as forthcoming projects.

While 72 builders are participating the expo, Home Financers like SBI, ICICI and others are also making themselves present. Besides, allied products on real-estate, home appliances, lifestyle items, interior decoration items and modern furniture are on display at the fairs which will continue till March 6.

Ananta Narayan Jena, MLA (Central), Bhubaneswar; Sushanta Kumar Rout, MLA (North), Bhubaneswar; Chandrasekhar Sharma, CGM, SBI, Bhubaneswar Circle along with Pradipta Kumar Biswasroy, president, CREDAI Bhubaneswar, Suryakanta Nanda, vice-president and Umesh Pattanaik, secretary; Chidrup Saha, CEO, GS Marketing were present at the inauguration.
