Bhadrak: A home guard has been arrested for allegedly stealing a police bike and trying to dispose it of in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
The accused home guard, identified as Chandan Barik, was posted at Bhadrak reserve police.
According to sources, Chandan himself committed the theft of a motorcycle of the reserve police.
Thereafter, he lodged a complaint at the Bhadrak Town Police Station alleging that the bike had been stolen from the campus.
During investigation, police found that the home guard was involved in the theft. Police received information about the number and colour of the bike being changed at a motor garage.
The police then carried out raid at the motor garage and seized the bike. Chandan and a mechanic of the garage, identified as Shadat Khan, were arrested and sent to jail, the sources added.
